The Telangana International Film Festival (TIFF) is a celebration of cinema that gives young and emerging filmmakers the stage they deserve. Founded in Hyderabad, TIFF was created to provide aspiring storytellers—who often struggle to find platforms for recognition—with the opportunity to screen their work on the big screen, experience the thrill of audience reactions, and gain encouragement through awards and recognition.
TIFF was inspired by the personal journey of its founder, Manjula, an award-winning writer and director. Having faced the challenges of being a young filmmaker herself, she realized how difficult it is for new voices to get noticed by the industry or connect with audiences. Out of this vision, TIFF was born—to bridge the gap between independent filmmakers and the larger cinematic community.
What makes TIFF unique is its commitment to inclusivity and innovation. Unlike many festivals, TIFF is not restricted by age, experience, or background—it is a platform for anyone with a story to tell. From regional voices in Telangana to international entries, from traditional short films to experimental formats like one-minute vertical films, TIFF celebrates storytelling in all its forms.
To empower filmmakers of all ages and backgrounds by providing them with a platform to showcase their stories, connect with audiences, and be recognized for their talent. TIFF aims to create opportunities for collaboration, cultural exchange, and creative growth while fostering an inclusive space where cinema thrives.
To position Telangana as a vibrant hub of international cinema, where young and independent filmmakers are given equal opportunity to shine, and to make TIFF a globally recognized festival that continuously innovates and encourages bold storytelling.
Over the years, TIFF has received entries not only from across India but also from international filmmakers, including submissions from the United States and Australia.

Every filmmaker dreams of seeing their story come alive on the big screen. I know the struggles of being an emerging filmmaker—the lack of recognition, the barriers to entry, the absence of platforms. That is why I started TIFF, right here in my home state of Telangana.
This festival is not just about films; it’s about giving courage to creators. It’s about saying to every storyteller—your voice matters, your vision matters. TIFF is here to celebrate you, your journey, and your art.
I welcome all filmmakers—whether from Telangana, India, or across the globe—to be part of this festival and join us in building a community where cinema thrives without boundaries.
